After studying criminology, Hester enjoyed working for the police force for thirteen years. When it is time for something new, she decides to quit her job and further explore her growing interest in green and takes courses in garden design and plant knowledge. She also works as a volunteer at the Theetuin in Weesp, where the position of office manager at Niek Roozen Landscape comes her way.

In free time, Hester can be found spending quality time with her family and friends, cooking, being busy in greenery, and practicing tsundoku.
