Guangfu Fishing Village, Suzhou

On the border of Taihu, the second largest lake in China, water village Guangfu is going through an economical and touristic development. The main landscape structure is shaped by hills, channels and geometric formed fishponds.  Based on these structures we developed a concept for the extension of two existing  harbors.  The tourist development of the village is being created by fitting into the design of the museum, surrounding restaurants and a play element in the shape of a ship. The nautical character will be emphasized by constructing a small dockyard  and some nautical objects on the central square on the waterside.
