An interview with Niek Roozen about our designs for seven city parks in Shenyang appeared in the journal GROEN: Vakblad voor ruimte in stad en landschap [GREEN: Trade journal on space in city and landscape].
In the interview with the trade journal GROEN [GREEN] Niek speaks about the current projects of the office and China’s approach to the climate problem. At the moment, Niek Roozen landscape architects is designing seven parks for the city of Shenyang, in order to create a ‘Sponge City’; a climate adaptive city. In practice that means amongst others designing parks that regulate rainwater and improve the water quality. Therefore, the designs incorporate for example ‘storage ponds’ with water purifying plants and special allocated wetlands.
