2nd Price European Garden Award for Kasteeltuinen Arcen

Earlier September 2018 Kasteeltuinen Arcen has been honourded with the 2nd price of the prestigious European Garden Award. The park was nominated by an international jury of the EGHN(European Garden Heritage Network) in the category “Restoration, Enhancement or Development of a Historic Park or Garden”.

Since 2010 the EGHN presents, together with partners in fourteen European countries this European Gardens Price. The purpose of the price is the European exchange on the development and management of parks and gardens and supporting sustainable, regional and local development concepts. For this price are innovative concepts in the realization and management or a special offer for visitors as important as high quality in the construction of a new (e) or the restoration of an existing (e) park or garden. The nominees and, in particular, the finalists and winners must be the inspiration for other projects or serve as a role model.

Kasteeltuinen Arcen, member of the EGHN only since the end of 2016, is proud of this leading garden price. With the award the effort of recent years, the extensive renovation of the Castle and grounds, is being acknowledged. Kasteeltuinen Arcen has evolved into an exceptional and popular destination. The flower and plant park – designed by the Dutch landscaper Niek Roozen – has been extensively renovated and offers many new events to its visitors.
